Educational Activities

On any given morning at The River Maze, you’ll see the sights and hear the sounds of children laughing, learning and playing. Offering educational field trips to  students has long been a priority for us at The River Maze.

Having grown up on farms, we believe it’s important that the heritage and dynamics of agriculture is something that all children have the chance to be exposed to.

It just so happens that we’re able to help accomplish that goal in a fun and unique way. We invite you to bring your students to come get lost in our classroom in the corn!

A winning combination:  Quality Education + Fun for Kids = The River Maze

Our corn maze features the theme, “Peace Like a River”.  Foundational encounters of outdoor life, the importance of our area’s rivers and majestic mountains, and the astounding way our food is grown will be educational themes.  This will be great for those who are working on teamwork as training for future jobs.

We will feature “Cows” this year in our soybean maze.  You will have a chance to learn…

• How Cows and People are alike and how they are different     (National Life Science Standard k-4..Characteristics of organisms)
  

  Dress a Cow!

• How Animals and their offspring share similar characteristics  (National Life Science Standard 5 – 8…Reproduction and Heredity)

Most of our  activities can be modified for different grade levels.  Another way that we try to promote education is to use trivia questions to help navigate through both the soybean maze and the corn maze.  We have educational passports that test knowledge about Corn, Pumpkins, English, History & Civics, Science, Math, and Geography.  Click here to view Sample Passports.
